2009 Community Asset Building Initiative

2009 Community Asset Building Initiative
The Community Asset Building Initiative is a Rasmuson Foundation challenge grant program managed by the Alaska Community Foundation. The Homer Foundation is one of the community organizations that have been selected to participate in the pilot program, which is designed to help grow permanent, unrestricted philanthropic assets in communities around the state.

The Challenge:

  • HF raised $25,000 in unrestricted funds by June 31, 2008
  • The funds were matched 2:1
  • HF will receive an additional $5,000 for re-granting in the community
  • We now repeat the challenge with round two, which includes an additional $5000 for re-granting in the community, by December 31, 2009

Help us grow new assets to support our community!
  • Every dollar you give is matched with two dollars from the Rasmuson Foundation
  • These dollars will create a permanent, unrestricted Homer Foundation Fund at the Alaska Community Foundation
  • Future earnings on the endowed fund will benefit the greater Homer area through the Homer Foundation
  • Funds managed by the Alaska Community Foundation helps HF diversify our asset management
